WLHH accepts self-referrals and referrals from generalist services such as doctors, psychologists and social workers. We support women from many different backgrounds such as migrants and other community groups including LGBTQIA.

WLHH can provide outreach support to assist women and children living in the broader community in their own homes, friends or family´s house, or other types of housing.

WLHH offers:

  • Information, advocacy and active referrals to appropriate services;

  • Advocacy at an individual, service system and broader structural level.

 Most of the women are usually transferred from WLHH high security refuge accommodation.

Our outreach service for THM clients includes :

  • Supporting women to settle in the new area.

  • Enhance the safety of their accommodation while maintaining connection with friends, family and other community support.

  • Client centred approach risk assessment and safety planning with client.

  • Information, advocacy and active referrals to appropriate services.

  • Advocacy at an individual, service system and broader structural level.

We aim to assist women to make informed choices for themselves and their children. ( to be edited under refuge section).

Motel outreach support

Provision of motel outreach assists women by providing material aid and emotional support to women and children accommodated in motels while waiting for a refuge availability.

This support provides women and children valuable face to face contact when they are in their most vulnerable time.

Aspects of the Support:

  • A client centred approach on a safety planning with client;
