Holistic individual assessment.
Information, advocacy and referral to appropriate services.
The refuge looks like an ordinary house in an ordinary street in the suburbs. It is a secure refuge which means, the address will not be given to anyone.
All refuge referrals come from Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre.
When you call the Safe Steps phone line 1800 015 188, you will be connected with a specialist family violence support worker. The support worker’s job is to try to understand your situation, explore your options, work with you to develop a plan to ensure the immediate safety of you and your children, and, if needed, connect you with supports to help you live free from violence. WLHH also accepts self-referrals and referrals from generalist services such as doctors, psychologists and social workers. Many of our service users are migrants, refugees or from CALD backgrounds.
